The BrightonMove property finder service is the brainchild of property expert Stig Lindorf Hansen. Originally from Denmark, Stig (pronounced “Stee”) arrived in London 18 years ago and immediately became fascinated by the UK property market. As a property developer, investor, buy-to-let owner, landlord, marketer and estate agent, he knows the tricks of the trade and maintains a great book of contacts. “I bought my first property in Islington, renovated it and sold it on for a profit, and never looked back. ” he says.

In 1999, Stig left London and relocated his property interests to Brighton. So why set up BrightonMove? “Buying a home is one of the most stressful things we do and one of the largest financial commitments we make. My mission is to relieve the stress.”

Those contacts help. “It’s a question of being in the right place at the right time,” Stig says. “BrightonMove has the connections and the time to find new properties that might not even be on the market yet.”

And Stig has solid relationships with solicitors, surveyors, builders, decorators and interior designers. Whatever you need, Stig can recommend someone.

Stig’s approach is no nonsense and friendly. “I think it’s important to use language everyone understands,” he says. “Jargon dehumanises the profession and it can make people feel uncomfortable about things. That’s not what we’re about at all.”
